Maldives Hotels

Twelve hundred coral islands scattered across the Indian Ocean, most of them a short seaplane hop from Malé. Resorts here tend to occupy an island each, which is why a Maldives stay feels less like booking a hotel and more like borrowing a small piece of the ocean.

Why the Maldives

The appeal is simple enough: warm water year-round, reefs close enough to swim to, and villas built out over the lagoon so the sea is the first thing you see. The dry season runs roughly November to April, which is also when prices peak — shoulder months trade a little more rain for noticeably better rates.

Below are two resorts from JOALI, a luxury hospitality brand with two island properties in the Maldives combining private villas, immersive art, wellness experiences and sustainable “joyful living”.

Planning a Maldives trip

Nearly every resort transfer is by seaplane or speedboat and is booked through the resort rather than separately, so confirm the transfer cost and the last seaplane departure of the day before you lock in flights — seaplanes don't fly after dark.

Most resorts are all-inclusive to some degree, but the definition varies widely. It is worth reading what the board basis actually covers before comparing two prices that look alike.
